THE HAPPY PLACE
MEDITATION REIMAGINED
The Happy Place draws an individual’s focus in an immersive way using natural scenes such as lapping waves on a beach or the bright colors of the crackling campfire. Going beyond smartphone-based applications, The Happy Place creates vivid virtual spaces that reduce sight and sound distractions, connecting the individual to their guided meditation, enabling them to manage emotions and increase focus throughout their day-to-day lives
ELEVATE RELAXATION
Meditation has been proven, in peer-reviewed scientific studies, to be one of the most effective solutions to stress. The number of US adults and children practicing mindfulness exercises has dramatically increased within the past five years. The Happy Place adds an extra dimension to meditation through Virtual Reality (VR). Meditation, coupled with VR technologies, can be more precise and personalized, making the learning curve easier and encouraging sustained usage. Pairing this with a headset immerses you in captivating sights and sounds, making it easier to tune out distractions around you to achieve the benefits of meditation. Simply put, The Happy Place expedites the process of reaching a meditative and relaxed state.
OCULUS
The Happy Place was built with the Oculus technology at top of mind. This VR application was created to grow and adapt to the most popular VR platform in the current market. Once launched, the application will be available on other platforms and headsets.

ABOUT THE HAPPY PLACE
Built from the ground up for VR, The Happy Place makes meditation simple and visual. Practitioners immerse themselves in a relaxing journey from 20 to 60 minutes across unlimited virtual scenes to find their happy place in a personal meditation space guided by subject matter experts who have established practices with thousands of followers. A key difference is that we work with the community to build our catalog of meditations to address a wide range of needs, such as calming and therapeutic immersions, versus interactive meditation that activates and focuses a person for optimal performance. These sessions bring ancient meditation practices to millions of consumers through leading-edge interactive and immersive techniques to unlock the health and wellness benefits meditation offers.
HEALING THROUGH MINDFULNESS
The urgency and opportunity resulting from the many changes resulting from Covid-19 on how people live their lives and manage uncertainties, altered daily routines, financial pressures, and social isolation. The Mayo Clinic reported a significant increase in US adults reporting symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia during the pandemic compared with surveys before the pandemic. “Our research underscores the ongoing mental health crisis facing first responders, which has become a perfect storm that combines the existing dangers of their work and the toll exerted by the pandemic,” said Jay Ruderman, president of the Ruderman Family Foundation. Tragically, during the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a significant spike in suicide rates, especially within the healthcare community. Military suicides have increased 20 percent in 2019 and 30% in 2020, with incidents of violent behavior spiking as service members struggle under COVID-19, war-zone deployments, national disasters, and civil unrest. The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) observed that meditation and mindfulness practices support healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and the general public during times of crisis, such as the recent global pandemic caused by COVID-19. While there are many forms of meditation and mindfulness practices, all translate well to different populations across the lifespan and range of abilities. Introducing a mindfulness and meditation practice during this pandemic has the potential to complement treatment and is a low-cost beneficial method of providing support with anxiety for all. According to Pew Research, the two age cohorts who most benefit from mediation at least once a week are Younger Millennials (18-29) and Baby Boomers 65+
